Frequently asked questions
Short answers about how Myth-Kit fits your table. We are an independent D&D 5e companion, not affiliated with Wizards of the Coast, D&D Beyond, or Roll20. The app will always have the freshest detail as features change.
-
Is Myth-Kit for players, DMs, or both?
Both. Same web app for everyone. Players keep characters and join campaigns. DMs create campaigns, send invites, run sessions and world content, and run combat. You all meet in shared campaigns with tools that match each role.
-
Is Myth-Kit a virtual tabletop (VTT)?
No. Myth-Kit is not a replacement for Roll20 or Foundry-style play. No shared battle maps, no dragging tokens, no built-in video or voice. It is a companion for sheets, rules lookup, combat tracking, and campaign organization, next to whatever you already use for maps and voice chat.
-
How does my group share a campaign?
The DM creates a campaign and shares an invite link. Players sign in, join, and link a character. One campaign holds sessions, notes, world info, combat, chat, loot, XP, and more. Who sees what depends on roles and what the DM shares.
-
How is the compendium different from sites like 5etools?
Myth-Kit’s reference is built from licensed SRD material (for example CC BY 4.0) inside the app. It is not every book in print. It is wired to your account and how you actually play. Big community reference sites are their own thing; we care about play at the table, not mirroring every source.
-
What about Pro and server sync?
Free tier limits apply to things like how many characters, campaigns, and homebrew items you can use. Real-time server sync and WebSockets for a campaign are on when the DM for that campaign has Pro. If the DM is on the free plan, that campaign may stay local-only on your devices. Pro also adds cloud backup options in settings. You can upgrade to Pro on this site; pricing and limits also live in the app.
-
Where do I manage my account, subscription, or delete data?
On this website: sign in at Log in, then open Account for usage and plan, Upgrade for checkout, and Legal and attribution for export and deleting your account while you are signed in.
In the web app: open Settings for the same account tools, billing shortcuts, and legal screens.
-
How do I get Myth-Kit on my phone or desktop?
Start in the web app. Open it in your browser and sign in. For install options like a PWA on your home screen or Google Play when it is live, see Get the app.
-
What platforms are supported?
Myth-Kit runs in the web browser and can be installed as a PWA on many devices: desktop Chrome or Edge, Safari on iOS with Add to Home Screen, Chrome on Android. A Play Store build may show up depending on release. See Get the app and any announcements we post.
